Healthy Eating Healthy Weights
Healthy eating can help protect against chronic diseases and can influence other important risk factors for health such as being overweight or having high blood pressure. Improving your diet by eating a variety of vegetables and fruit daily has been shown to increase life expectancy by more than two years. According the Taking Action to Prevent Chronic Disease report published by Public Health Ontario, it is estimated that unhealthy eating may have resulted in direct health care spending of nearly three billion dollars in Ontario in 2011.
