According to the 2006 Census, 29% or 101,090 Simcoe Muskoka residents aged 20 years and older had completed a high school certificate or equivalent, 51% or 179,730 had completed a post-secondary certificate, diploma or degree while 20% or 69,385 had no certificate, diploma or degree.

Ontario's adults had a higher percentage of its population with a postsecondary (college or university) certificate, diploma or degree (55%) compared to Simcoe Muskoka adults (51%).
